This beautiful ski resort is one of the oldest in Japan and boasts 15 different slopes and 12 courses for all levels, from beginner to expert. Upon reaching the top of the mountain one can see the famous "Ice Monsters" or "Juhyo". These "Ice Monsters" in addition to the beautiful panoramic view from the mountain top make this resort is one of the most spectacular, scenic resorts in all of Japan. Be sure to also check out the "Ice Monsters" under the amazing night-time illuminations either outside or from the cafe. However, night-time skiing is only available on the lower elevations.
Besides skiing and snowboarding, the resort hosts one of the most renowned sulfurous hot springs in Japan, a perfect way to relax after a day on the slopes. There are several public bathhouses and open-air hot springs to enjoy throughout the village and in the village hotels.
