Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten Shibuya
Known as the Weathercock House for the weathercock on its tower, Kazamidori no Yakata is the only red brick home in the Kitano area. It rose to fame after being featured in an NHK drama in 1977 and has been designated as an Important Cultural Property. The residence comprises two floors with rooms incorporating traditional German style design and art nouveau interior decoration. Significant restoration and preservation work has been carried out to maintain it so visitors can tour the home to glimpse back in time to 1909, when it was built by renowned German architect George de Lalande.
Walk 15 minutes from Sannomiya Station or 10 minutes from Shin-Kobe Station.
